How to move your old videos to new projects

As announced in 2016, we are moving from channel page to project page. Going forward when you think of LiveEdu, imagine project pages instead of channel pages. With the new project page
approach, each project has its own URL. When viewers visit a project page, they will see the live channel and also the past video playlist under the same URL. You can read more about project channels

The significant change will enable viewers to easily find videos related to the same project.

This tutorial will show you how to create a new project and move all your videos which belong to that project to the new project. Idea is to create as many new projects as you need and move your old videos to the respective project.

Below is an example GIF which shows you how to create a new project and move videos to that new project.

Now, let’s go through the whole process step by step.

After the new release, all our old videos that you created so far on are categorized under a single project.

Let’s take a streamer with 145 videos. From the beginning until now, the streamer has worked on five different projects. Let’s call the projects, A, B, C and so on. Before the update, all the videos he has worked on are in the same project. Now, he will move the videos related to project “A” in the new update.

As you can see from the image above, there are 145 videos listed in one project (the last project the streamer worked on).

How streamers should move their old videos to new project

Step 1: First you need to login into your account. Once done, you need to go to top the right section of the website and click on your profile image. Now click on the “My Projects” as shown below.

Step 2: Now click on “New Project” and create a project that you want to transfer your videos to.

For example, you have worked on “JavaScript Blogs” earlier and want to move all the videos related to “JavaScript Blogs to the new project “JavaScript Blogs”, then go forward and create a project with the same name. Don’t forget to enter the correct Project category, Project Type(Blog or Tutorial) and the broad category(such as Programming, Game Development, Data Science, Design, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence) the project belongs to. You can also go forward and type about what the project is all about.

According to our example, the project name will be “JavaScript Blogs”. The Project category will be “JavaScript”. The Type will be either blog or tutorial based on what the project is about. The major category will be “Programming”.

Step 3: Now you need to go to the project that contains all the videos. You can do so by clicking on the “My Project” and then selecting it from the list.

Step 4: Once there, you need to click on the “Project Playlist” as shown in the image below.

Step 5: Now you will see all the videos listed here. All you need to do is select the videos that belong to the new project “A”.

Step 6: Now click on the drop-down menu and select the project you want to move the selected videos. Clicking the “Move to” button will start the process.

Congratulations, you have successfully transferred your videos to the appropriate project.

If you have more than one project, you need to repeat the process for each project that you have worked in the past.

So is it possible to also remove a project? When we finished moving all other videos around, it would be great to delete the old first project.

Also, a project can state you have several hundred videos, but i can only see the first 20.

Would be great if you also support the same markdown styling in the overview of projects, like you do on the actual project page :).
