Hire a Streamer for Private 1:1 or Group Sessions – Request a Stream and Pay

Livecodingtv

Since we launched Livecoding.tv on Feb 23, 2015, people have been using Livecoding.tv in many different ways, but one that comes up a lot is people asking others for private one-on-one or group sessions on advanced topics, code reviews, bug fixing, platform architecture, school homework, college coursework, or support building a product.

To put more structure into this and also incentivize streamers to dedicate their time, we will launch in the next weeks “Livecoding.tv Stream Request and Pay” . This is a new way of hiring and paying a streamer for 1:1 or group sessions. This is how it will work using an example: Nixx is setting up a Linux production environment on AWS for a mobile game he is building. He is stuck for three days. He knows the streamer Whilkeand have seen him doing some awesome backend work on AWS and thus want to hire him:

1. Nixx goes on Whilke’s channel.  Clicks on the “Hire Me” button. A form is displayed where Nix can see the kind of services Whilke offers and his hourly rate
2. Nixx clicks the “Book” button, and is then asked to describe what he needs. He enters how many hours and pays upfront. Livecoding.tv keeps the money in escrow
3. Whilke gets a booking notification
4. Whilke offers the service to Nixx
5. Livecoding.tv confirms with Nixx job has been done and pays out the money

He is also the inventor of the Eunicycle, essentially a one-wheeled Segway. Blackwell studied engineering at Carleton University and received a BEng in 1992, then studied Computer Science at Harvard University and received a PhD in 1998.
